About UsIf you are here looking at this page, you are probably wondering who we are and why we're reviewing porn. It's a long story but I'll do my best to explain.
Mrs Dave and I are an average suburban couple living in Sydney, Australia. Now Australia is a fine place to live except for one thing - good porn is really hard to get here. Believe it or not, it's illegal to sell porn in any Australian state. It's legal to own, but not to buy (go figure). It's legal to buy and sell toys, but not porn (go figure again). The only legal places to buy porn here are mail order places run from our two territories (the ACT and the Northern Territory). This is OK, except that the mail order places are dominated by a couple of big players who, frankly, bring in crap. They bring in cheap crap, and we lap it up because it's all that we can get.
Mrs Dave and I like our porn. We started buying porn around 15 years ago, before we got married, and we quickly got sick of the trash we could get locally so we started looking offshore. We bought the odd one or two from the US but the shipping costs were just too high to make it worthwhile. Mostly we got by with stuff we bought under the counter from local sex shops (they aren't allowed to sell it but they all do).
All that changed a few years ago when I found a podcast called Professor P's Porn Panorama. It was put out by the manager and staff of a small sex shop in Bellingham, Washington (spitting distance from the Canadian border). They did humorous reviews of porn, toys, lubes and other stuff. It was probably the funniest podcast I had ever heard. I contacted the Professor and told him how much I enjoyed the show. He contacted me back and told me how much he enjoyed the fact that I enjoyed the show and how cool it was that Australians were listening. Before long, I ended up running a forum for him where listeners could post in guest reviews. I started posting reviews. Mrs Dave got involved as well and for a while, a few short, glorious years, the Panorama forums were a hive of activity
Sadly, the little sex shop in Bellingham was driven out of business by some large chain stores opening up nearby and the podcast died as well.
We had the bug though. Mrs Dave and I discovered we loved reviewing porn. We set about finding somewhere new to post our reviews... and here you are.
