Pink

Last in this series of lube reviews is Pink, the silicone lubricant in the Empowered Products stable.

Like the others (Pink Water, Pink Unity), this comes in a well-sealed bottle and it is enhanced with vitamin E and Aloe Vera to make it all good. As with the others, we started the test by rubbing it between our fingers - a good way of establishing how something feels initially. Then we tried it out.

Pink Unity

Next in our series of lube reviews is Pink Unity, from the same people who brought us Pink Water - Empowered Products.

Pink Unity is a hybrid silicone lube. That is, it is a blend of silicone and water based lubes. The advertising blurb claims that it has a "thick, satiny smooth gel formula" and "slickness of silicone, ease and convenience of water". All good, it also claimed to be non-staining and glycerin and paraben free (that's good because I discovered later that Pink Water had some parabens in it, which I didn't realise when I bought it). How they managed to blend oil and water, I couldn't imagine, but I thought it was worth a try.

Pink Water

As both Mrs Dave and I are big, hemp-wearing, organic-loving hippies, we prefer to use organic lube. Up until now, there hasn't been much of a range of organic lubes available here in Oz. There's our old favorite Sylk and a couple of others (such as Sensua Organics) that we tried before but with limited success. In the last year or so there have been a few more come onto the Australian market so we thought we would give them a go. The first is Pink Water for Women.

There are a few lubes in the "Pink" range. "Water" is, obviously their water-based product. They also do a silicone and a hybrid lube. Watch for reviews of those in the near future. It's all natural and free of all the nasty chemicals you find in a lot of lubes. The "For Women" bit is code for "pH neutral, natural and kind to delicate skin". Obviously men don't want that in a lube. We prefer to lube up with a mix of axle grease, gravel and battery acid. Leaving aside minor niggles with their marketing, we put this one though its paces.
