So... what's the difference between a vacuum cleaner and the Swiss Navy? One sucks and never fails. The other... is a water based lube. That's right folks. It's another lube review. Swiss Navy Premium water based lubricant. We picked up a small bottle of this as part of our quest to find a new anal lube. Over the last couple of nights we put it through its paces.
This comes in a 60 ml pump pack so it's already ahead of the Pjur Aqua for packaging. It's a thinner lube but not watery. We were quite surprised at how little the pump dispenses; it's only a tiny blob, but after using it we can see why. This stuff goes a long way. One or two squirts was all it took to get things started. So how did it perform?
Regular sex was first and it did pretty well. Nice feel to it and it lasted well. The problem with this one was what happened next morning. Talk about sticky. Everywhere this one touched was left feeling really gloopy and sticky. Fortunately it washed off easily but it was quite uncomfortable. We have to dock it a few points for this, but still a reasonable 5/10.
Solo came next. Mrs Dave thought it was OK, but for me as a wanking lube, it was great. It felt fantastic and lasted better than any other water based lube I have used. It did need a few re-applications during a long and leisurely wank so it's not as good as the silicones. Next morning though, yech. My hand and cock had adhered to the sheet and had to be peeled off. Uncomfortable. 6/10.
For the toy portion of the test we whipped out Mrs Dave's new wooden dildo. Again, it performed well as a lube. Stayed where it was put. Didn't run everywhere. Felt good. But very sticky the next day. Even after a quick wash before going to sleep. 6/10.
On the anal test it did OK for a thinner lube. Mrs Dave took my finger and our Small Butty Vibe reasonable comfortably. Again though, a thicker lube seems to do better for us anally and yet again the stickyness the next day was a problem. Sticky date is a nice pudding but not a nice feeling to wake up to in the morning. 5/10.
Overall, this was a good general purpose lube and an excellent wanking lube for me that was let down badly by its stickyness. If they could solve that, this would rate as one of our favorite lubes. As it is, it gets a 5/10.
