Another lube we tried recently was Frixion Silicone with Aloe. We really like the idea of silicone lubes, particularly for mucking around in water and we are yet to find one that suits us, so we were interested in trying another one out. According to the bottle, not only does it contain Aloe, but also "natural herbal extracts" that "...may increase sexual energy and stamina". Sounded good so far. I'll be honest, I don't recognise half the ingredients but it has ginseng root extract. That must be what was supposed to give us extra energy. Apparently it can even be used as a massage lotion. Having looked up some of the other ingredients, there are oats in it (perhaps to make the skin feel nice) and Yohimbe Extract, which, according to Wikipedia, (that source of all that is truthful and right) is supposed to be an aphrodisiac.
It was nice to put on, and felt good to start with. Unfortunately it quickly started to feel a bit thick and the friction started to build up, so we added some more. Then some more. Then we were at risk of slipping off the bed there was so much, but it still didn't feel good. There is a fine line between slippery and thick, and for me this crossed the line from nice and slippery to thick and uncomfortable. I can't comment on the sexual energy and stamina. Finding things uncomfortable does tend to colour my judgement. I cannot see how you could possibly use it as a massage lotion. My bits started to get hot from the friction, and not in a good way. Friction burns are not desirable.
This has been the problem with most of the silicone lubes we have tried. Unlike the water based lubes that are super slippery, the silicones are more like a thicker oil and just aren't as slippery. They do last a long time and don't dry out, but they just don't have the same level of slipperyness that the water based ones do.
So I'm afraid that Frixion Silicone with Aloe struck out for us. We may decide to hang on to it for those odd occasions that we do get to play in water, but I don't know how often it will see the light of day.
