TSA: Your Ass Is In Our Hands

Frequent visitors to the USA will be familiar with the government-sanctioned sexual assault that masquerades as a post-9/11 security check. One guy I work with, thanks to his nationality (Indonesian), name (Muslim-sounding), and the fact that he travels occasionally to the Middle East for work, has to allow an extra 4 hours at every airport in the US for his "completely random" additional security check. When I saw that Evan Stone, one of the funniest guys in porn, had written a porn satire of the TSA, I thought "Wow! Comedy. porn and cutting edge political satire all in one!"

It certainly looked promising. Written and directed by Evan. With Randy Spears (the other funniest guy in porn) and a bunch of other people. The pre-credit opening is great - Evan in full TSA uniform monologues to the camera "...weary travellers queuing up to have their civil liberties violated and the constitution torn up on their faces...". Then the credits rolled, the film started and we quickly remembered why most comedians don't write their own material. Most funny guys are good at the delivery but have a team of writers to craft the jokes. When they write their own material they can fall a bit flat. Evan is no exception.

The Craving

I'm a big fan of fairy tales. This may seem like an odd confession on a porn review blog but I'm not talking Disney here. I like the old stories. Before Disney filled them with talking teapots and twittering birds. The old, old, dark stories. My bookshelves bulge with titles like Grimm's Grimmest and Snow White, Blood Red. When I saw that Wicked had released The Craving, a dark, adult fairy tale, I grabbed a copy.

The Craving was released in 2007 starring Jessica Drake (last seen in 2040) and directed by Brad Armstrong (who also directed and performed in 2040). The premise is simple - an adult re-telling of a bunch of well known fairy tales. Sleeping Beauty, The Pied Piper, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and The Frog Prince. All those stories have a lot to offer to a porn writer. In fact we even have a porn short story collection based on those stories. Unfortunately, the makers of The Craving had never read it because they took the easy option - replace the words "lived happily ever after" with the word "fucked".

Porn: The Musical and Bible Bashing

Recently I received an email from Cinema Erotique, promoting some new films that they had just released. They sounded interesting, so I contacted Cherry Chapman and asked if we could have review copies. She very kindly agreed, so today I'm reviewing Porn: The Musical, Bible Bashing and Barbie's Washday. Like all Cherry's films, these are short (Porn is the longest at 32 minutes) and feature girls who predominantly come from Eastern Europe. The costumes are well done, the sets are good (the bedroom in Bible Bashing is very flash and the exterior of the house is nice too) and the girls are all lovely to look at, with natural boobs, mostly natural hair and not covered in outrageous tattoos. Some even have (sculpted) pubes.

The first film is somewhat unusual; it is indeed a musical. It has all those features common to musicals, costumes, dancing, and people bursting into song for no apparent reason. You may hate musicals, and avoid it for that reason; Dave nearly did. But Porn: The Musical has its funny moments and it is well made.

PRON: the XXX Parody

Regular readers will know by now that I am a geek. For geeks of a certain vintage, one movie stands above all others as a symbol of our geekiness. That movie is Tron. Not the new Tron, the old, 80s Tron, where all the "computer effects" were hand drawn on film because computer animation was too expensive to use (actually there are about 30 seconds of real computer animation in the original Tron, the solar sailor is real CG, the rest is good old-fashioned matte painting, rotoscoping and film compositing). Knowing my love for the old Tron, and views on porn parodies, it was with some trepidation that Mrs Dave put PRON: the XXX Parody into the player.

I have to give them full marks for the title. That's clever. Obvious but still clever. Lee Roy Meyers, of Human Sexipede fame was one of the directors, so we had high hopes there. The film starts well too, Fling (Anthony Rosano, last seen by us in Bonny & Clide and Sex Files) who runs Fling's XXX Arcade, is trying to hack into a computer system to dig up evidence that his ex-boss stole his amazing sex toy designs (for those too young to know this, in the original Flynn, who runs Flynn's Video Arcade, is trying to hack into a computer system to dig up evidence that his ex-boss stole his amazing video game designs). Fling's interrogation program (also played by Anthony Rosano) is "interrogating" another program (April O'Neil). Vigorously. In full glowing Tron costume. Cool. Sadly, that was as cool as the film got.

Flying Pink Pig

After our experiences with new porn over the last few months we have been somewhat reluctant to investigate the newer mainstream titles in our to be watched pile. Most of the new porn we have watched has been overly long and astonishingly dull. After a run of classics though we were in danger of turning URT into a classics only site so we gritted our teeth and pulled a random new porn off the pile. The cover was encouraging. For a start it was't a parody. I know! Amazing! An actual, original idea!

Our random selection was the Flying Pink Pig, directed by Erica McLean (ex-star and now freelance director). The titular Flying Pink Pig is an upmarket catering van (the sort you see on building sites at lunchtime) only this one is staffed with young hotties (let me assure you, most of the real ones are not) and serves food laced with a secret aphrodisiac. Apparently the van is actually a real catering van in the LA area that they borrowed for the shoot. This film made the news last year when it was shot when the owners of the real Flying Pig first gave permission for the truck to be used, then withdrew permission before release and the whole thing ended up in court. Anyway, the Pink Pig (movie version) is owned by Sunny Lane (last seen by us in The Human Sexipede) and run by her and a bevvy of young hotties. An evil businessman (Ron Jeremy... fortunately in a non-sex role) wants the business and hires Nicki Hunter to infiltrate the business and help him take over (OK.. it's not that original an idea but it's not a parody).
