This week we thought we had a review of a new movie for you, but it turns out that the movie in question (although very new to our collection) was actually produced back in 1995. Fantasy Chamber from Ultimate Pictures is a Cameron Grant film (apparently an Andrew Blake wannabe) and features a huge cast of performers.
Fantasy Chamber stars Nikole (or Nicole) Lace as Catherine, a woman who is a bit of a thrill seeker. She sees an advertisement for "Adventurous people who want to explore their minds" or some such thing, and promptly applies. Turns out that it is experimentation using a tricked up float (or isolation) tank that flashes lights and symbols to induce trance states in the subject. For those who are too young to know, or those who need a reminder, these were huge tanks filled with extremely salty water that you were fully encased in. Completely dark inside, you were supposed to explore your inner consciousness or something. I have heard that many people got seasick in them, with no visual point of reference, and it really looked a bit like getting into your own coffin. The real ones don't do the lights and symbols either. See this Wikipedia entry if you want to know more (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Float_tank), although the photo is nothing like the tank in the film. Anyway, Catherine hops in and starts to be experimented on.
Now I have to digress here a little. Watching porn is not something I do to give myself migraine headaches (something which I am, unfortunately, prone to). One of the triggers I have to avoid is flickering light, such as a fluorescent tube which is dying, or dappled sunlight through leaves. Strobe lights also have a really bad affect on me, so my clubbing days are over. Unfortunately this film uses such stobe effects to indicate that the subject is going into a fantasy state. Frankly, I not only had to shut my eyes, but also to cover them to avoid a massive headache for hours afterwards.
Anyway, back to the film. The first fantasy - Reflections - features Nikole Lace, Barbara Doll and Mark Davis in a scene filled with mirrors and lots of shagging. Another aside here - it was really nice to see big name performers with natural boobs and hair in this film. In fact, there were real brunettes! The only really artificial stuff so far was the fake fingernails that a lot of the girls were wearing. This scene was great with the three of them exploring themselves and each other, and although there were still the basics of vaginal, anal and facial, it was handled somewhat more tastefully than usual. There was quite a lot of oral in this one as well.
Second scene and second fantasy features Vanessa Chase and TT Boy in Garden Party. Vanessa Chase only had a short career and to be honest, at first we had trouble deciding whether she was the lead character or not. Turns out not. Anyhoo, this scene started well, with the couple walking down a garden path to a gazebo-type structure, I think overlooking water. It was very soft-focus, romantic, and they were wearing an attempt at period costumes. They start to strip and there the fantasy receives a rude shock when it turns out Vanessa is wearing a black lace thong under her corset. Bad move, wardrobe dude, thongs weren't invented at the start of the 20th century. Ignoring the wardrobe anachronisms, this was a pretty good scene, and there appeared to be quite a bit of chemistry between Vanessa and TT Boy. This scene was mostly oral and anal, with a little bit of vaginal thrown in for good measure. And I liked her boots. I really liked her boots.
Scene three was an odd one - Shower. Nikole Lace is in the shower after her tank adventures, and a man appears. Now at first we thought this was the "scientist" (Jim Andrews), but it turns out it was Peter North. After quite a bit of mutual groping, they shag in the shower, then he disappears. Cue confused Catherine in this short and sweet scene!
Catherine leaves the "research facility" and goes home to tell her flat-mate (Kylie Ireland) about it. Flat-mate gets verrrrry interested and tries it out for herself.
Kylie's first fantasy involves both Alex Sanders and Vince Voyeur in Biker. Two competing alpha males for the only babe around (with the first fake boobs we've seen so far). This was nicely set, lit by a fire in a metal drum, the set looked convincingly outside and grungy. Kylie stays between the two boys, keeping them apart and providing easy access to both ends with oral, vaginal and a facial.
Scene 5, Distortion, features Anna Malle and Steven St Croix. This is probably the most arty in appearance, with lots of smoke, red background and lighting and the performers dressed in black. There's groping, oral, doggy and missionary before the money shot. This was an OK scene, but not a standout.
Scene 6, Domination, features Kylie again, partnered with Sindee Coxx. There is domination, spanking and strap-on work as well as some oral and fucking. Can someone please explain to me the point of someone giving a dildo a blow-job? When I saw Kylie sucking and rubbing the strap-on that Sindee was wearing, I just didn't get that. To me that isn't hot, that's dumb. I personally feel that it could have been hotter if that had been left out instead of just looking silly. And if it's a dom thing, then surely making her suck on some real part of Sindee would have worked better.
Scene 7 features Nikole Lace and Steve Drake as her boyfriend in Seduction. She taunts him with how arousing she has found her time in the float tank, and he responds that it's fine by him. There is plenty of oral in an athletic encounter on an improbable bridge over the downstairs foyer of this house. I was amazed at Steve's stamina and strength, particularly when supporting himself suspended on the railings. To make things a bit different, there's even some toe sucking (not for the ticklish amongst us).
As Nikole has found the float tank so cool, Steve becomes intrigued (particularly when she disappears on him). He goes to the research centre to find her, only to be told that she's never been there. To convince him of the centre's honesty, he is offered a session himself, which he agrees to.
Scene 8 is Steve's fantasy and is titled Latex Altar. It features Felecia, Jen Teal and Misty Rain clad in latex and playing with a wide variety of toys. They take in turns to be the centre of attention, which is an interesting change from usual. This scene features toys (including strap-ons), oral and fingering. It wasn't bad, but as regular readers will know, all girl stuff isn't my thing.
Scene 9, Thunder Storm, has Steve meeting up with Rebecca Lord. This was another arty scene with a thunderstorm playing on a blue screen in the background. I enjoyed it though, and what was a really nice change was that they spooned during their coupling. That's something that you don't often see in porn. Variety is nice for a change. Oh, and Rebecca appeared to be wearing Vanessa's boots. Dayum I want those boots.
Scene 10, the final scene is Power Plant. It features Biance (also known as Bionca) and Jordan Lee taking on Kyle Phillips, Nick East and Tony Tedeschi. We have Biance in leather and Jordan Lee wearing a schoolgirl-type outfit in the bowels of a power plant. Jordan gets tied up while Biance plays with Tony. Then everyone goes to play with Jordan. There's a lot of swapping around, athletic and muscular sex and a dual-girl facial to end with. This scene looked grotty and there was "dirt" on the boys' bodies to make them look as though they had been sweating (before the girls got there, I mean).
The ending has a bit of a twist, so I won't give it away. It could have done with some more development in my opinion. As it is, it was fairly abrupt and a tad disappointing. Basically it was a collection of unrelated sex scenes strung together with a kind of plot. And it worked. Not too much plot, just enough to string things together and give the sex a reason for happening. The soundtrack is really good (and they make a point of it being available for sale) and you don't hear much dialogue in the sex scenes, which makes a nice change. The actors' biographies as extras on the DVD are a little disappointing, as there were only 3 or 4 out of the 20 or so performers in this film, which was a pity. All up though, this was a pretty good production, and one to keep to watch again. Just be careful if you have epilepsy or are prone to migraines.
