Life is good right now. The kids have gone back to school after their long summer break and we can finally get back to watching porn and writing reviews. This week's review is another educational movie - Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Female Orgasms. Now Tristan, bless her, liked our previous reviews of her movies (Expert Guide to Anal Sex, Expert Guide to Anal Pleasure for Men) and she sent us a review copy of her Expert Guide to Female Orgasms, the newest in her stable of Expert Guides. So a disclaimer here: this was a freebie, but given the high standard of Tristan's work, we knew it was going to be good. This title was only released in December last year, so this is, quite literally, hot off the presses - high quality and a new title, what more could you want?
Tristan has gathered five couples together where they speak openly about female orgasms, what they do and don't like and Tristan herself gives an introductory talk, interspersed with clips from the scenes to follow. Tristan gives good, common sense information about what's what (and I really like her larger-than-life-size pussy puppet). Her cast includes some really big names, such as Adrianna Nicole, Madison Young, Evan Stone and James Deen.
The first couple was Katie St Ives and Sean Michaels. Katie is young and cute and Sean is gorgeous. It's been too long since I've seen any men in porn who really appealed to me. I mean, they've been OK, but nothing I'd write home about. Sean is different. I mean seriously hot. Why haven't I seen him in anything before? Anyhoo, Katie talks about what she likes, then Sean talks about what he likes doing, and then they get down to business. This pair work really well together. The chemistry is great and Katie had orgasms. Plural. I lost track in the end of how many she'd had, but I think it was at least four. Phwoar!
Evanni Solei and Evan Stone were next. Same formula where they each talk about what they do and don't like and what works for them in getting women off. Oh, and one thing we learnt about Evan - all the time we thought he was hamming it up for the part in films like Hercules, or Pirates and Pirates II, instead he was just being Evan. Turns out he's a genuinely funny guy, not just a funny actor. Evanni likes it slow and gentle. And she gets it slow and gentle. Their coupling is a great scene. And she came. My only criticism is this - Evan, take your boots and jeans off. It's much nicer to have long, slow sex without belt buckles etc getting in the way and looking like it's a 5 minute quickie. Despite his clothes, this was a really sensual and intense pairing.
Jiz Lee and Madison Young are the next pair. This may be the first time that Jiz has appeared in a mainstream production (this DVD is published by Vivid). Jiz usually appears in independent features and was last seen by us in Crash Pad. So it is a pretty big thing to have someone like Jiz in this production. Madison Young is very feminine and pretty (although I kept mistaking her lip piercing for a spot, sorry Madison). There is huge chemistry between Jiz and Madison, and it was a very playful coupling with Madison making animal noises while she played with Jiz. Madison seems to like things a bit rough, so there was a bit more rough stuff than I would normally like. She also warmed up really quickly (surprisingly quickly, although we found out the reason for that later). Although rough sex is not my thing, it was still a great scene, with both of them having orgasms and looking like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Dylan Ryan and Mr Marcus were next. Dylan has girl next door looks and is very cute. Oh, and I like her underwear. Mr Marcus is nice. Dylan likes him for his great smile and great cock. What more does she need in this scene? Oh yes, an orgasm (or three). And she gets it. In fact she gets it so well she squirts all over Mr Marcus! Unlike some squirting recipients that we've seen, he takes it in his stride and appreciates it. Another really good scene.
Adrianna Nicole and James Deen are last in this great DVD. Adrianna is a tall, statuesque blond who prefers anal with clit action as the best method to get her off. James is really cute and gives us what is undoubtedly the best line in the film - "Watching girls have orgasms is rad!". They are both keen to work together and their sex is really enthusiastic. You can tell they like each other. And they have fun. They even get a We-Vibe II in on the action!
Toys are present in every scene and all five use a Hitachi magic wand to help things along. There's no big production on cum-shots from the men, so no facials, pearl necklaces etc and it's all a bit low-key for the male orgasms. Much like genuine female orgasms are usually treated in San Pornando Valley. Don't get me wrong, they do get off and enjoy themselves. It just isn't a big deal for a change.
There are extras on the DVD - the usual (from Tristan) mini-feature on safer sex, but also a piece on pelvic floor muscle exercises, a vibrator guide, some behind the scenes stuff (which explained a few things I'd never thought about before) and a masturbation montage. The extras were why Madison was so warmed up for her scene with Jiz - she'd already masturbated.
This is a seriously good production. And you know what? Even as the owner of a vagina, I learnt something from this DVD. I learnt that I plateau easily and then have to work harder to reach climax. But once I'm there, I can reach multiple peaks. Even Dave learnt something. We talk more about what works and what doesn't and we have tried a few changes to technique. And it has spiced things up a little.
If you own a vagina, you should buy it. If you don't own a vagina, but get invited to play with one, you should buy it. Seriously, anyone who has sex of any sort with a human vagina should own a copy of this DVD. Next time we watch it, I'm going to skip straight to the scenes as they are good enough to stand on their own.
