The Visitors is from Wicked, produced by Michael Raven, stars Keri Sable and Kimberly Kane and also starring Evan Stone in a very different film to Hercules. This is amazing. The Visitors is an X-files-like UFO-abduction film with sex scenes. By the end of this we were watching this one for the story! The sex fitted with the plot (and was pretty hot too). The effects were cool. Everything about this movie was good. Except the packaging - The Visitors is seriously over-packaged; a plastic double DVD case with paper insert, packaged in a box which contains the same images and text, then shrink-wrapped in plastic! It's difficult to open and a waste of resources.
The Visitors is completely different to what I was expecting. I was under the (extremely mis-guided) impression that it was a comedy (kind of like Men in Black with sex). Boy, was I wrong! This is more in the true sci-fi alien abduction genre, with some sex as a bonus. The scenes are really well done and the sex fits really well with the story at each point.
Brief synopsis - beautiful girls get abducted by aliens, usually after shagging their men, and taken for experimentation. Girls on their own go missing, girls with their men go missing (and the men get nuked) and girls in groups go missing.
The "Behind the Scenes" is a little scary - Michael Raven states that he wrote the screenplay after believing that he'd had an alien encounter when he was younger. Believe that or not as you will (I personally don't), but it makes for a great film.
I have a problem watching Keri Sable in action - she reminds me too much of Paris Hilton, so I find it hard to take her seriously. My only other real criticism is that the stills were done at the same time as the action scenes, which is particularly obvious in the first sex scene. Kirsten Price is straddled across Barrett Blade facing him, but she's looking back over her shoulder for the camera, not at him. I commented to Dave at the time about how tacky that was - it was only after going through the (extensive) extras that we realised why.
The extras menus are annoying from the point of view that the font used for the titles is very small and is difficult to read. The extras are OK, although the quiz to get the extra scene got very frustrating, particularly as on our piece-of-crap DVD player it got hung up. The extra scene wasn't worth it in my opinion. However, we didn't buy the DVD for the extras, so I can happily ignore them.
As mentioned earlier, by the end of The Visitors, we were watching it for the story. The ending left me saying "...no! It can't end yet, we need more story!" It isn't your usual fuck-flick in that there's enough plot to distract you from rooting like rabbits while watching it. We still managed to fool around, but it's certainly not what you'd sit down to have a flog in front of.
So that's The Visitors. Another big thumbs (and other things) up from the both of us. We're really hoping they make The Visitors Part 2 - The Probing. They went to the trouble of making a 4 foot long glowing tentacle to ravish the abductees with and then it only showed up on screen for about 2 seconds! We want more tentacled goodness. If 4-hour hardcore gonzo cumshot compilations are your thing, then this one probably isn't for you but if you like a porn with some plot and a great story then you will love this one.
