Released in 1978, Candy Stripers is probably THE classic horny hospital film. For those who don't know, a Candy Striper (no.. not candy stripper... that's a completely different profession) is a hospital volunteer. Named after their pink and white striped uniforms they are usually a young person just out of school, possibly looking to start a career in nursing. I think its pretty much a US phenomenon. We have hospital volunteers here as well but their average age is probably closer to 90 than 19 so you probably wouldn't make a film like this here. Oh yeah... and we call them pink ladies.
The plot (yes it has one.. kind of) is simple. It is Sharon's last day as a candy striper and she spends as much of it as possible having sex with the doctors, nurses and patients while trying to avoid Sarge (Sharon Thorpe) the draconian and prudish head striper.
We start with Sharon (played by Nancy Hoffmann by the way) blowing one of the doctors in a store room. He obviously has his priorities right as he is being paged to come to the operating theater urgently through the whole scene (and through the whole movie - it becomes a bit of a running gag).
Next up one of the other stripers Pam (Amber Hunt) is helping one of the patients, played by the amusingly named Rock Steadie, relieve himself. Quite why he needs help is never fully explained but after helping him pee and cleaning him up, she blows him while he licks her ass. After a quick fuck, he then demonstrates that his hands work just fine thank you very much by vigorously fisting her (yes they had fisting back in 78). This scene was (in)famously cut from the original release but was obviously preserved somewhere as some kind soul has spliced it back in. Apart from a slight change of colour it's almost seamless.
Sharon by this time has finished with the doctor and busies herself under the desk at the nursing station applying a tongue to the two on-duty nurses.
Meanwhile, Cindy (Montana), another striper, visits one of the female patients in her room. This astonishingly well-looking woman is trying to masturbate with a large banana at the time and when the door opens, leaves the banana in place and just pulls up the covers. When Cindy pulls back the covers to give her a wash down and discovers (to much feigned embarrassment) the large banana embedded in her puss, she naturally joins in and some fairly vigorous girl-girl action ensues. No fisting though.
Sharon (who has obviously finished with the nurses) then visits another room where a patient and her husband are getting frisky. One thing that strikes me about this is that none of the patients seem to have any reason to be there - they are obviously not sick and these days they would be sent home with an aspirin. Maybe they all have really good insurance. Anyway, Sharon naturally joins in leading to the second of the deleted scenes that our kind soul spliced back for us - Sharon being double fisted (yes they had double fisting back in 78) by the patient and fucked in the ass by her husband.
Our final scene is an all-in orgy in the operating theater to celebrate Sharon's last day. All the staff and patients join in and demonstrate just how many interesting bits of equipment there are in an operating theater and just how many positions you can assume while having sex on them. Even the prudish Sarge cuts loose and goes at it with the best of them.
Let me be clear here - if you are looking for a gritty and accurate portrayal of hospital life, this movie is not for you. I know several people in the nursing profession. Under-desk cunnilingus, wild orgies and horny patients do not feature in the stories they tell (though there are some interesting ones about people with interesting objects stuck in them who visit the emergency department). If you want some darn fine porn though, this one comes highly recommended. I really like the classic porn (in case you hadn't noticed). The story is good. The sex is good. The women look good. If hospitals were really like that I'd be out playing in traffic right now. Definitely one for the collection.
