Recently we purchased another special lube at the supermarket, the Yours+Mine Lubricant from K-Y. Like the Secret Garden Female Orgasm Enhancing Cream and the Play O Orgasmic Gel, Yours+Mine is designed to make the female bits all warm and cozy. However this one also comes with a tube of goo to put on his junk and make it all cold and tingly. Hence, Yours+Mine. Then you mix the two together and worlds collide, there are meteor showers and unicorns crap rainbows etc, etc, etc. Or so the packaging (and advertising) leads us to believe...

K-Y have done a better job than Durex did in that they are not excluding 50% of the population with this product by aiming it at both genders. It comes packed with a simple cardboard outer. Inside the packet are two tubes of goo; a purple one ("Mine"), intended for use on female bits and a blue one ("Yours") to go on male bits. I think we can safely assume that K-Y have aimed this at female purchasers. Anyway, the tubes look like test tubes and come in a plastic bracket to keep them together. At this point I should mention that you should keep the cardboard outer and this bracket to keep the tubes in because the tubes won't stand up on their own and if you lie them down the lids do leak a bit. Keeping them upright is a wise idea. The packaging is designed to keep them upright, so do your best to keep it intact.

The "Mine" contains water, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 60, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benziod Acid, Menthyl Lactate, Methyl Salicylate, Fragrance and Sodium Hydroxide. So not winning any "all natural" awards for that one. The "Yours" is a bit simpler: glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Maltodextrin, Honey, Methylparaben and Sucralose. Hey, I even recognise what some of those are! As mentioned earlier, the "Mine" is meant to be a warming lube, and the "Yours" is meant to be a cooling, tingly lube.

We've talked before about how whether or not these types of products work on an individual is strongly related to that individual's unique physiology. Well the curse of Dave's (and my, to an extent) unique physiology struck again. I got some warm and fuzzy feelings from the "Mine", although sadly nothing like the Secret Garden Female Orgasm Enhancing Cream, and applying the "Yours" to Dave, I could certainly feel it cooling against my skin. However, Dave didn't notice anything himself, and certainly nothing like the Rocket Balm episode. Anyway, we duly mixed the two together, to see what would happen. Dave again didn't notice anything, and for me, well it was odd. The chemical reaction of mixing the two caused alternating hot and cold sensations. The warming I found nice, but given that I tend to be a cold frog anyway, the cold wasn't so good. Cooling my junk doesn't do much for me, and having tried an ice cube in there once in really hot weather, it's just too intense for me to cope with. The ice cube was actually painful. The Yours+Mine wasn't as intense as that, but I certainly didn't find the cooling feeling appealing. Instead it was distracting. Kind of like when using a vibe that switches between modes mid-vibe. I don't like that either.

So, unfortunately not a huge thumbs up from us. It doesn't suck by any means, it just doesn't work particularly well for us. If you like cooling-type things and you have tried others that work well for you, then this may well be another that fits the bill. This is another product that you'll have to shop around for as the price varies quite a bit, with the RRP apparently being $32.95, although I didn't pay anywhere near that much. I've seen it in supermarkets and chemists as well as adult product stores.

You can buy Yours+Mine Lubricant here through Femplay in Australia.
