Ultime Personal Massager

It's another long-overdue review for you today, this time the Natural Contours Ultime personal massager.  I bought this quite a few years ago, when it was fairly new on the market and (by comparison to other vibes around at the time) shockingly expensive.

It's nicely packaged and nicely made, and astonishingly, even gets shipped with its AA batteries included.  At the time when I bought it, it was touted as being designed by Candida Royalle (of Femme Productions), although the About Us section of the manufacturer's web site doesn't mention this.  Their design team includes European industrial designers and sexual health experts, so it has credibility.  Apparently the first of its kind, it is a G-spot massager, which vibrates at both ends, so that it works on the clit and the G-spot at the same time.  It is pretty to look at, being a light lavender-blue colour.  It doesn't look like a conventional vibrator.  It has a remarkably quiet motor.  In spite of all this, it is one which has never really made it into the regular rotation, and that's for a few very good reasons. So what's wrong with it?
Natural Contours Ultime personal massagerMy first complaint is that the batteries are awkward to get around the right way when inserting them - the positive and negative indicators are printed on the battery cap (which gets removed to insert them) and I always, always get them round the wrong way the first time.  If the manufacturers end up reading this review, please, find a way of printing the indicators on the vibe itself.  The cap is also difficult to get back on once the batteries are in, as it has to lock into place and push the batteries down at the same time.  Awkward when the hands are clean and dry, almost impossible if they are slippery.

My second complaint is that it is hard.  It is made of a hard plastic (so no silicone to soften it) and, despite its curved shape, it has corners on it.  They can get a bit uncomfortable, and overall, there's just no padding on it which makes it a lot less comfortable than it could be.

My third complaint is the on-off switch.  I've made this complaint before (and no doubt will again in the future).  I want a separate off switch.  I don't want to have to work my way down the speed settings to off.  If I've cum and I want to stop, I want it to stop now!  This vibe has 3 speeds, with the highest being the first one you get when you turn it on.  As even the lowest speed is quite strong, turning it off means working through the 3 speeds to the off-position, and in this case, increasing the speed before getting to off.  When I'm using a vibe, I like to have something in me after I have cum, so I want to be able to leave it in place, and turn it off, not have to remove it, turn it off, then put it back.

I'm also not sure how durable it is. I've had this kicking around for at least 6 years, probably longer (I really can't remember now) but it has only been used a few times.  Looking at it now, when it hasn't been used for at least 3 years, the glue which joins the two sides together has gone a nasty yellow colour, and is breaking down a bit, leaving gaps which can get filled with gunk.

Lastly, despite being designed to fit the clit and G-spot at the same time, it just doesn't work for me.  I need the curve to be tighter than it is.  This works on either my clit, or my G-spot, but not both at the same time.  That's really disappointing, and it is why this isn't my vibe of choice.  If I'm using this, I need a second one to work on the other side.  That kind of spoils things (it also means finding more batteries).

It's a real shame that something which was quite an investment at the time I purchased it, hasn't turned out to be as good as I'd hoped.  It's not bad enough for me to chuck it out, never to be used again.  Instead it sits there accusingly, reminding me of its unfulfilled potential and an expense that we could ill-afford at the time.  Sadly, the Natural Contours Ultime just isn't the vibrator for me.
