Dolphin Silicone Dildo

This review is a bit different.  It is for a product which I have had for many years, loved (and cum on) many times, but unfortunately it is a product which is no longer available.  It is a silicone dildo in the shape of a dolphin, which I purchased from The Pleasure Spot way back in 1995.  So why bother reviewing something that is no longer made?  Because this beautiful little dolphin meant that I discovered my G-spot.

The Pleasure Spot, which was founded in 1993, was the first adult shop in Australia to focus on women and couples, and to be generally more up-market and non-threatening.  The woman who owns it, Jo-Anne Baker, is a trained sex and relationship counsellor, who also does public speaking and motivational lectures.  Highly qualified, she aimed the business at a sensual approach to pleasure, rather than blatant sex.  I have to be honest, although we had purchased things from other shops and mail order businesses, The Pleasure Spot was the first which I felt truly comfortable with.  There used to be a shop front, but now it is purely mail and web order. The Pleasure Spot was also the first place in Australia to produce quality silicone toys.

So, I had the catalogue and browsed through it.  In there was a delightful silicone dildo in the shape of a dolphin.  Not terribly big (around 11cm, or 4 1/2") it wasn't intimidating.  It didn't look like a penis, so it was discrete.  It was purple, rather than shocking pink or unrealistic skin tone.  It was, at that stage, the most expensive sex toy I had purchased, but goodness it was worth it!  Flipper (so we named it) came with its own storage bag and instructions on how to care for it.  Its lovely curved shape meant that I was able to have G-spot stimulation for the first time.  The lovely pointed beak (poll? what's the name of that thing?) was the perfect fit for my body. I had tried other G-Spot dildos before (mostly the cheap jelly kind) but none of them did the job.

This little dolphin has set the standard by which all other dildos are graded.  Many didn't cut it at all.  Few have lived up to its standards.  While I have many, and bigger, dildos now, this is still the only silicon one that I have.  Perfection is in my hand (or toy box, as the case may be).  I don't need to keep searching.

The Pleasure Spot still exists and still sells silicone dildos.  I don't know whether they still make them all themselves.  They also sell other companies' products.  They currently sell a few styles that are aimed at G-spot stimulation.  They look pretty good.  While I can't comment personally on their new styles, I will say that their products are quality. They last and work well.  The shop sells plenty of books and DVDs (educational and otherwise).  The DVDs are not only X-rated, but also R-rated, for those just starting out with porn.  The titles are more tasteful than your usual run-of-the-mill shops.  You wouldn't find "Honey, We Blew Up Your Pussy, No 11" here.  What you will find are products for people who want to enhance their sex lives, without entering into the seedy end of town.  I suppose it is aimed at vanilla sex, but let's be honest, we can't all have wild, monkey-sex, all the time.  Vanilla is nice too.
