A final wooden dildo review for you this week. After the disastrous Thud, I shied away from trying the last dildo I was in possession of. Last night, in the interests of getting fodder for another review (and given what Dave had suffered through the Rocket Balm), I bit the proverbial bullet and tried it out.

This time, I was in for a pleasant surprise.

wooden dildo
This wooden dildo is made of cherry and measures an impressive 33cm (or 13") long. There is absolutely no confusion with this dildo - one end is purely for being reamed with and the other is obviously for the g-spot. The g-spot end measures 12.5 cm long (5") and has a girth of 7.5cm (3"). The tapered regular end measures 16.5cm (6 1/2") long and has a girth of 14.5cm (5 3/4") at its thickest. We started with lots of lube and went slowly. I have to say, it felt pretty good with the regular end. I wasn't able to fit the whole thing inside me, but I managed most of it. While thick at the base, it wasn't so thick as to cause problems, and cumming on it didn't hurt (always a good thing). Being a smooth finish, it wasn't the most amazing time I've ever had, but it was pretty good. As a no-fuss dildo, that part does the job.

Then we tried the other end. We started out with Dave plying the dildo, but the shape of the g-spot end meant that I had to take over and do it myself. For me, at least, the angles involved are such that the slightest bit out of alignment is uncomfortable. Still, once I was wielding it myself, things moved along nicely. The end is well-shaped and does precisely the job it is intended for. All up, it was a good thing and a good time was had by the person on the receiving end. Don't worry, Dave got looked after as well.

Realistically, I'm not sure how often it will be used, as I have ended up with a fairly extensive collection (now I wonder how that happened?). But if I want a reaming and some added variety, this toy fits the bill. If you are looking for a wooden dildo, I can heartily recommend the polyurethane finish, as it is easy to clean, is nice and smooth, and doesn't irritate my skin. I know that there are dildoes out there which have a sanded and oiled finish, but I can't comment on them as I haven't tried them. (If you make them and want me to review one, please feel free to send me one.) Philosophically, I like the idea of wood (or glass) and prefer that to shoving plastic in my delicate bits. It's easy to clean, it won't tear, it won't break if you drop it, and it requires minimal processing. As long as the size is right (as I've learnt the hard way) I really don't think you can get much better than a wooden dildo.
